Associate Vice Provost for Student Affairs, Career Services
Carl Martellino is Associate Vice Provost for Student Affairs, Career Services. He joined the University of Southern California as Executive Director of the Career Center and Associate Dean of Student Affairs in June 2011.
Carl has worked in the fields of healthcare, business, law and education where he has built an award-winning and successful career in student affairs, receiving awards from CASE District VII as well as from the Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers (MPACE) for his outstanding contributions to the field of career services. Carl has been very active in the field and has held various leadership positions including President of MPACE and has contributed through committee work for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
Carl has worked in career services at some of the nation’s most prestigious institutions – USC, UCLA, and Pomona College. Prior to joining USC he served as the Director of Career Development at Pomona College and held the position of Assistant Director and Career Counselor at the Parker MBA Career Management Center at The Anderson School at UCLA.
Carl has presented at national and regional conferences on a variety of career services topics. He serves as a standing member on a variety of career-related product advisory councils. As a thought leader in the field he has served as a faculty member on the Career Services Institute-West. He is often requested for his expertise to serve as an external reviewer for college and university career centers. Carl has been invited, as one of 100 of the world’s top career development leaders, to attend the Global Career Services Summit each year.
Carl received his BA in Psychology with a Business and Administration emphasis and his MA in Educational Psychology with honors from UCLA.
