The Sierra Club

The Sierra Club leads free evening hikes through Griffith Park.

If your boots are made for walking, grab them and go to the Sierra Club’s 7 p.m. hikes in Griffith Park. Offered several times each week, these 1.5–2.5 hour encounters with Mother Nature range from moderate walks to strenuous scrambles over hilly, steep terrain with uneven footing.

Meet at Griffith Park’s upper merry-go-round parking lot #2 at 6:45 p.m., complete the mandatory waiver form and hit the trail.

Sturdy hiking shoes or boots are required; flashlights or headlamps are optional. Leashed dogs are welcome at the discretion of each Sierra Club leader.

No car? No problem. From the USC University Park Campus, walk to the corner of S. Figueroa and 37th streets to catch the 81 Bus towards Figueroa-La Loma. Get off at N. Hill and Alpine streets, and take the 96 Bus toward Burbank Station. The Griffith Park/ Park Ranger Office stop is .4 miles from the Sierra Club meeting spot.
