USC believes that parental support aids student success. With that in mind, USC established USC Parent and Family Engagement to help parents support their son or daughter’s USC experience. Whether it is inspiring your daughter to take on a leadership position in a campus organization or sending your son a reminder about his financial aid deadline, studies show that parental involvement increases the chances that a college student will graduate and be successful.
We hope you’ll take full advantage of the services and resources that USC Parent and Family Engagement provides. Throughout the year, we will cultivate a spirit of volunteerism and Trojan Family that will reflect the lifelong and worldwide network that Trojan parents are an important part of. Opportunities during the 2016-17 academic year include:
- Trojan Family Weekend —our biggest event, expecting thousands of parents and family members. Registration opens in the summer.
- Committee and general volunteer involvement opportunities–from welcoming new Trojan parents during Move-In Day, to volunteering during Trojan Family Weekend.
USC Parent and Family Engagement also participates in the recruitment of admitted students at student/parent events; plays a significant role in the international onsite orientation of new students and parents; and welcome new Trojan parents at every orientation with a presentation on resources and programs.
