Student Affairs Conference Subcommittee

The Student Affairs Conference is designed to bring together Student Affairs colleagues from throughout the university to share and discuss cutting edge ideas and research that will improve our work with students. The conference occurs annually before the start of the fall semester.

Traditionally, the keynote speaker’s remarks highlight any new directions for the university and how they impact our work in Student Affairs. Breakout sessions have featured presentations from professional conferences, research conducted by staff, spotlights on new programs and initiatives, and even a session on USC folklore. Past speakers have included Coach Michael Cooper, students from the Freedom Writers (a movie based off of the experience of Erin Gruwell), DeVon Franklin (VP of Production at Columbia Pictures), and USC faculty, staff and students.

The day concludes with lunch and closing remarks from the vice president for Student Affairs.
