Trojan father Michael Greenwald traveled all the way from Kenya to see his son Peter at Trojan Family Weekend. He returned to Kenya, where he works at the U.S. Embassy, with a USC T-shirt and hat – perfect apparel for visiting baby elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. He reported that the “conservancy takes care of baby elephants orphaned by poachers who kill their mothers for ivory. When visiting the orphans you get a bit muddy because they are playing in a mud hole during their feeding time. After some time at the Trust, the young elephants are reintroduced in to the wild and join herds. It’s a very successful conservation program and a great place to visit in Nairobi.”
