Dockweiler State Beach has pits for bonfires.

With summer inching closer, now is the perfect time to head to the beach for a warm night of singing “Kumbaya” ‘round the fire. For an evening of safe pyro-fun, head to Dockweiler State Beach, where bonfires are legal in designated pits. Make sure to bring your own kindling and wood, and don’t forget the marshmallows!

To get to Dockweiler from USC, take the 110 South to the 105 West. Continue onto Imperial Highway, then turn left onto Vista Del Mar. Turn right at W. Grand Avenue to park at the beach. Summer parking rates range from $3 to $10. You may also park on the street for free.
